VS.

WATER

#1. 75% of people are chronically dehydrated.
#2. In 37% of people, the thirst mechanism is so weak
that it is mistaken for hunger.

#3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as much as 3%.
#4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of dieters.
#5. Lack of water is the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

#6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.
#7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.

#8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%., and one is 50% less likely to
develop bladder cancer.

Are you drinking the amount of water
you should drink every day?

COKE
#1. In many states the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the
trunk to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.
#2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of Coke and it will be gone in two days.
#3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the
toilet bowl and let
the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in
Coke removes stains from vitreous china.
#4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers:
Rub the bumper with a crumpled-up piece of aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.
#5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.
#6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Apply a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to
the rusted bolt for several minutes.
#7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into
the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy.
#8. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of Coke
into the load of
greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The
Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road
haze from your windshield.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION:

#1. the active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. It will dissolve a nail
in about four days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and
is a major contributor to the rising increase of osteoporosis.

#2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup (the concentrate) the
commercial trucks
must use a hazardous material place cards reserved for highly corrosive materials.

#3. The distributors of Coke have been using it to clean
engines of
the trucks for about 20 years!

Now the question is, would you like a glass of water?

or Coke?

Not to mention the sugar content! Your body would actually reject Coke (throw up immediately) because of the high sugar levels if the acids didn't trick your body into thinking there wasn't as much as there is. BAD glucose spikes.

The trivial, the major... the good and the bad...

Greetings!!

Well, today I am 23 years old. That's kinda weird... doesn't really feel like my birthday... doesn't feel like I should be older... I don't feel older...
Anyhow..... Bet you can't guess what I saw yesterday! All right, you caught me, it was Royal Winnipeg Ballet's production of Dracula at the Royal Theatre. It was amazing. I adored it.

First, the costumes were phenomenal. Lucy's nightdress (the gold-ish one on the blonde) was a favourite. It was made of such floaty material that positively floated around the dancer's body. It was sensational! The Vampire Brides/Sirens outfits were rather beautiful as well...
Second, the music was so dramatic but romantic. I believe it was all Gustav Mahler selections. It didn't overshadow the dancing but it didn't fade into the background either. I was very pleased. (Note to self, buy some Mahler!) Ryan really enjoyed the music... :)
And of course, the dancing itself was a pleasure to watch. It was at times beautiful classic, sometimes fun, always interesting and entertaining and beautiful :)
It was very entertaining, and I really enjoyed it, so thank you so much Cheri for that birthday present. Is it too late to join a dance studio? I'm only 23...and overweight. Does that mean I can't? Is it too late? *sniffle*
I love all live performances! Opera, ballet, orchestral, theatre, musicals... good stuff. :)

Then today I also discovered that birds had gotten into my little garden, and eaten almost all my peas!! *Gasp* I know! Those pesky little buggers! Grrrrr.... so luckily I had had a few little starter containers and those were untouched but my two main drawers (I'll have to take pictures of my little garden so you can see what I mean... I actually planted things in drawers) were all eaten up, so from what I had crammed in my starter containers (which I hadn't thought would do well, but thank goodness I did them anyway) I was able to fill one drawer again, and I now have it covered.... The rest of my garden (strawberries, lettuce, lilies, mint and chives) are growing well. :)

Rented and watched 'The Pursuit of Happyness' and 'Children of Men' yesterday as well... They were both REALLY good movies, both definately heart-wrenching... Children of Men is violent and truly dystopia, but still so wonderfully done that you could forgive it's somber and grave tale... Atleast Pursuit of Happyness has a happy ending. :) I enjoyed them both. Wonderful acting in both. Must-see's I think :) Just don't watch them if you're already having a down or out-of-sorts day.

Had a lovely dinner at the Keg for my birthday. Had my usual: A Violet Sunset martini and a Sirloin Oscar. Divine. Rare steak at it's finest with scallops, shrimp, asparagus and bernaise sauce, and a loaded baked potato. Yummy! Melt in your mouth delicious.

Tomorrow I start my first solo day (my training is over and it's just me now). Eeep! And come thursday (because it's Easter Weekend) I'm going to have a FULL kennel. Yikers. So I'm going to be soooo busy Thursday, Friday and Monday... and no long weekend for me. :( Good money though, and really, all I do is play with puppies and kitties and do some cleaning, so it's not that bad. :)

I can't believe how much has changed since my last birthday.... I'm now married, and living in a new place, and have decided on the course of my life, and have gotten a job that helps me down that course, and my parents have gone to China, and my best friend/sister in law is engaged, and I have a nephew, and so on and so on.... So many things can happen in a year. It's been an incredible year. And now I'm 23... and in a few months I'll have been married for a year...

I love being married.

Anyhow, I've really got to get to bed...
