All The New New's!!

This has been a busy little space of time... New car (see older post), and now a new mattress and a new job for me, and a new duvet cover and sweet cushions, and birthdays, and house cleaning, and me learning to drive previously mentioned new car, and life decisions, and everything.... WHEEEEEEE!!!!!!

So here we go.... first, the pretty pictures of my gorgeous bed, and bedroom (though I still have cleaning to do).

I love our new mattress... a Simmons "Bowling Ball" Mattress... made in Canada, using Canadian steel, etc.... and OH SO COMFY. My old mattress had dips and bumps in it, and the box spring was SO broken.... I should have gotten pictures before it was hauled away.

And we lucked out, with a floor model sale, and such...
and we got a free mattress protector and two free pillows, 'cause he wanted us to like the store.
It was a nice store... I love mattresses....

And then we got sweet cushions (and of all the places to find them, we got them at London Drugs) and then we went to Heirloom Linens and picked up this nice, simple duvet cover set
(on clearance) for our bed, 'cause all our blankets are blue.... which clashed just a little. :)

So I LOVE my bedroom.... with it's little reading corner and it's open feel, but still romantic and personal.

Now if only this was a King...... *Sigh*

The sweet little reading nook..... it's so cozy... only thing missing is a fire place....

Don't you just want to jump on it and snuggle right in??

A little bit more organizing to do, but it's come a long way..... a few days ago, you couldn't see the floor. :P I like it much better now :)

Mood lighting... :) And the fountain is a nice touch when it's on.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyhow, now for everything else.......

So I've been learning to drive the new car... the car and I get along much better than the truck and I ever did. It's a fun car to drive. So while I occasionally am not quite as smooth as I'd like, I've been able to get around town with little trouble. It's so exciting to have a car I can drive again. Hello Independence!! :)

And yes, I have quit Timmies.... while it was a good schedule, and pretty good pay, I just can't do the coffee-shop crap anymore... I have no more patience for those customers, the routine, etc... it's just SO tiring and draining, and with only the half hour break, and no fifteens or anything, and standing on hard tile, and with the good staff quiting, and getting stuck with a couple really clueless people, etc... it's just been too much. I'm very drained, and have been getting more tired and grumpy as time goes by.... so a new bed and a new job will hopefully help.
My new job is at Cannor Nursery (http://www.cannor.com/index.htm) It is literally right next door, being the next place beside the Howard Johnson, which we live behind. It's a totally different environment. And gardeners are so much better customers than people who haven't had their coffee yet. So I will be a cashier at Cannor.... usually 9-5:30, but occasionally till 9pm if they need (so 12:30-9ish) and the occasional day in a weekend.... and not as much money :$9.75, instead of $10.25... but after a 3 month probation it should go up to $10.00.
But we both agreed that the change would be worth it... less stress, less draining... something I can keep working at for the year and a bit till I go back to school. So I gave my notice yesterday (wed.)... I feel bad, 'cause other good staff have been leaving, and I'm one of the best... but I just can't keep doing this job. Timmies just isn't where I want to be...

Which brings me to the big life decision...
I'm going back to school!!
I'm going to finally just hunker down, do the school, and finally get to what I've thought about and tried working towards in one way or another for years...
I'm going to become a Vet.
YeeHaa!!
Only thing is this involves going back to school... so fortunately I have such a supportive and caring husband, who will move back to "the horrible prairies". away from his beloved ocean, etc... so that I can do this. So next summer we'll be moving, and probably to Spruce... I'll take my pre-vet at UofA, and then hopefully get accepted into the new Calgary Vet. Med. program. It's that, or Saskatoon. I'll apply to both, but Calgary is the first and fave. choice. Closer to everything. Mountains, family, friends, ocean....
So yeah, that's pretty crazy.
We'll keep this place... rent it out, and then live in my parents house in Spruce while they are in China, so we can save up money for a house where ever I'll have to be for Vet. Med.
(And Ryan is hoping to save money for his dream TV, etc...) :)

It's will be so nice to have a real, grown up job... a profession. I'm going to be a 'Dr.'
That's kinda exciting.

And my grandma will help, if she's still around, as she put it. She celebrated her 94th birthday in February. Yikers. And she still lives on her own, on that big farm, with 2 horses, an old cat, and her wild birds. It'll be cool living closer to her, and being able to visit her... and get dinner. ;) :)
Speaking of birthdays, it's Dad Crause's birthday today!! Happy birthday Dad :)
And my mom's birthday is the day I start my new job at Cannor... the 18th. Mine is getting closer.... creeping up on me... yipe. ;)

*WHACK*
So yes, there's a whack load of news for you.

Now you all know what's up... if you ever look at this thing anymore.
Later.

Sarah,

Love the pictures of the bed. It does look very inviting. Best of luck in your new job, I hope you find it less stressful.

As for going into Vet Med, good for you. I wish only the best, and hope you can get into the school in Calgary.

My mom had two vet med students from BC live with us when she still owned her house in Saskatoon. It's nice to know there is another vet med school available.

love the new bedspread and I'm excited for your career move too, it sounds like a good plan. You lasted longer at Timmie's than I did, I made it a whopping five weeks.
Hope you love the new job.

Love your new bed. It looks wonderful. I am also very excited about your new career. Not to excited about you guys moving away :( but so happy for you. Calgary is not too bad. Pray you can go there instead of Saskatoon. Our prayers are with you guys. Hope you enjoy your new job.

It was really cool to see you guys today and get my hand delivered RSVP card (the first one!! :D), even if it was only for a few minutes. I still can't believe you worked at Tim Hortons for that long. But then again, I worked that long at McDonald's, and I can't believe that. $9.75 is still pretty good. I just got a raise to $10, so I'm happy with that. I LOVE your bed. I want your bedroom. It's so nice and warm and RED. I love colors on walls. Man, I need to own my own place.

And hey, good luck with school! I think it's a great idea. I'm really thinking about going back to school, too. Maybe Graphic Design at Malaspina. I'd like to be a vet, but I wouldn't be able to stand the actual procedures on animals. Not a chance.

Congrats on the discision to become a vet. From what I hear from Mitz, it's in your blood. You will do great. If you do come to Saskatoon you can always find a free meal or two at our house.
Best of luck wherever you end up.
p.s. Your room looks great!
