More about my weekend....

So yeah, it was a great weekend. We rode the SkyTrain, which is fun, and bought sport sandals for each of us, as both our older pairs decided to break on us this year... Ryans broke the day we were going to leave. He wasn't impressed. We stayed at the Westin Grand, which was a nice enough hotel, but after being spoiled with resorts, hotels just aren't the same. LOL I mean, really, after being there, where our room at the Sheraton in Tahiti was approximately $370, which had a killer location, a SUPER pool, ect... and the Westin, with a small pool, etc... was $336 or something... there's no comparison. So it's hard to find the reason to spend money on places like that now. But it let us stay and see Cirque Du Soleil and things, and we didn't have many options 'cause everything was so booked up that weekend. This is the shirt I got from the Cirque Du Soleil show....
Also got the soundtracks. Because of the honeymoon, and having to move the date of the show we'd see, to keep the good seating, we had to go VIP, which Ryan had never done before. You get to go inot a special VIP tent an hour before the show, during the intermission, and afterwards, where they have music going, and they feed you really fun little snacks... like an edible orchid stuffed with chicken salad. It was very good. They had nice seating, and a special shop, and free drinks (I had 2 glasses of champagne, then switched to coffee and water) and during the intermission it was desserts, like choclate fondue, strawberry champagne smoothies, brownies, etc. We also had VIP bathrooms. It was an awesome experience. You walk in, they give you a special tag to wear, and they give each person a bag with a free CD and a program (collectors - usually $13). The tickets cost more, but it was worth it. If you ever have the opporutinity to see a show with VIP tickets, do it. It's so awesome. That was so much fun. And the seats were great. We were in the center, only 3 rows from the front. We could see everything. Those people are amazing!
The music rocked, and the clowns were awesome. (The clowns entertain before the show, inbetween act changes, etc...) They were really good. They involve the audience. The performers blew me away. There was an act with 3 young chinese kids, swinging around these ropes with disc things on the end, and tumbling around as the ropes fly through the air,
etc... and the balancing acts... and even the juggler was crazy good.
It was all so beautiful.
We'd go again in an instant.
If you ever have the chance, 'cause you're in an area where a travelling show is, or you're near one of their permanent shows, I'd definately suggest going. It's unbelievably beautiful. And they make it look effortless. It's the best thing I've ever seen... and it has to be viewed live for you to grasp the magnitude of it.
I am now done gushing about Cirque Du Soleil.
For now. ;)

Ryan wanted to get a shirt, but in the end he didn't :( Maybe one day I'll get him one :)
Kat, we need to go on a couples trip to Las Vegas in a couple of years (Ryan's determined to have me see the other permanent shows before the states get's too over-protective) and see all the shows (except the adult weird one) and go see the grand canyon, etc...
We could get those fun rooms that connect to each other... and then always have it locked ;) LOL
